Role Description
This is a full-time
onsite
role for a Logistics Team Lead, based in Houston, TX. The Logistics Team Lead will oversee daily logistics operations, assist in training and development, broker freight, provide competitive rates to shippers as requested, coordinate carrier relationships, and manage team members to ensure efficient freight scheduling and delivery. Duties include leading and developing the logistics team, optimizing supply chain processes, and working closely with stakeholders to meet operational and shipping goals.
Qualifications
Strong Communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with team members, partners, and clients
Proficiency in Planning and organizational skills for managing logistics workflows and operations
Expertise in Team Management and Team Leadership to guide and develop the logistics staff, ensuring optimal performance, with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Knowledge of Supply Chain Management, including overseeing freight movement and ensuring operational efficiency
Ability to analyze and solve logistics and transportation challenges efficiently
Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain sectors preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is an advantage
Experience in negotiating rates and participating on RFPs/RFQs
Knowledge of transportation load boards including Truckstop and DAT.
