An international consulting organization supporting small and mid-sized companies and startups is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented
Accounting Associate
to join its Chicago-based Corporate Management team.
This team provides financial and administrative services to international clients operating U.S. subsidiaries, including accounting, financial reporting, tax coordination, payroll, HR administration, and operational advisory support.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain bookkeeping and general ledger for a portfolio of clients
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable; monitor cash flow needs
Set up payroll accounts and coordinate payroll with third-party providers (e.g., TriNet, Paychex)
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closings (reconciliations, journal entries, accruals)
Interact with federal, state, and local agencies for tax and registration purposes
Support clients and internal team members with administrative tasks
Collaborate with colleagues across multiple U.S. offices on financial reporting, onboarding, and new client setup
Coordinate with external partners including lawyers, CPAs, banks, payroll processors, and other service providers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
1–2 years of professional accounting experience
Experience in an accounting firm is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Hands-on attitude with the ability to multitask
Comfortable handling a broad range of assignments, from bookkeeping to value-added consulting support
Strong organizational and communication skills
