Responsibilities
The Work
The Cloud Solutions Architectis responsible forthe cloud computing initiatives within an organization and for directing the architectural aspects of a cloud brokering team across all aspects of IT andthe business. Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's cloud computing infrastructure and applications. Implements and designs hardware and software. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
This position performs all duties and responsibilitiesin accordance withthe Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
Key Responsibilities
Designandimplementcloud architectures that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
Build and configure cloud infrastructure usingInfrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM, and CloudFormation.
Collaboratewithbusinessstakeholdersto understand requirements and design/develop solutions.
Migrate legacy applications to cloud platforms by refactoring them to microservices, serverless, or container-based architectures.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure highavailablityandoptimalperformance.
Implement automation for CI/CD pipelines andDevSecOpspractices to streamline development and operational processes.
Provide technical guidance and best practices to ensure solutions meet businessobjectivesand regulatoryrequirements.
Conducttechnicalreviews, code walkthroughs, and architecture validation sessions, to helpmaintainhigh standardsand consistency acrossprojects.
Implement secure data exchange and interoperability through modern messaging and API technologies.
Continuouslyoptimizecloud resources to achieve the best balance of cost, performance, and scalability.
Document solution architectures, technical decisions, and implementation steps using industry-standard modeling tools.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their architectural principles.

Minimum Skills:

Proficiencywith AWS, Azure, and GCP – deploying, configuring, and managing native services for computer, networking, security, and data.
ExpertiseinInfrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) and automation of cloud deployments.
Proficiencyin designing solutions using modern development stacks (Java, .NET, Node.js, Python)
Strong skills in DevOps/GitOps, CI/CD pipeline setup, and cloud monitoring tools.
Practicalproficiencywith API gateway management, service mesh, and secure API development.
Ability to lead technical teams in solution delivery, code reviews, and architecture validation.
Proficient in migrating and refactoring legacy applications for cloud environments.
Deep knowledge of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and secure data exchange.
Knowledge of critical federal and state cybersecurity and risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, CMMC), and experience designing compliant systems.
Knowledge of enterprise data exchange standards relevant to the public sector (e.g., NIEM, HL7, FHIR) and experience with modern messaging/middleware technologies for secure data interoperability.
Exceptionalinterpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
