Piper Companies is seeking a Network Engineer II to support a leading healthcare services organization through hybrid work in Columbia, MD . This role is ideal for a senior‑level network engineer who enjoys designing, implementing, and supporting complex LAN/WAN and data center networks while serving as a technical expert across project teams.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer II:

Design, plan, implement, and support large‑enterprise LAN, WAN, and data center network solutions.

Act as a technical consultant across multiple project teams, supporting architecture decisions and delivery timelines.

Provide Tier‑3 support for complex network issues using advanced troubleshooting and performance analysis tools.

Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans; support evaluation of new technologies and vendors.

Qualifications of the Network Engineer II:

5+ years of experience supporting large‑enterprise LAN/WAN and data center environments.

Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR).

Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, enterprise WAN/Internet circuits, and inter‑data‑center connectivity.

Experience with enterprise network security technologies (NGFWs, VPNs, SD‑WAN, NAC).

Proficiency with SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar monitoring and packet‑analysis tools.

Experience with Cisco Meraki switching and wireless; F5 LTM exposure preferred.

CCNA/CCNP (or higher) preferred.

Compensation of the Network Engineer II:

Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000 (based on experience)
