Position Summary
Leading Solutions is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to support the Global Simulation Capability at the National Simulation Center (NSC) located at Fort Leavenworth, KS. This position supports the NSC Support Operations task order under the MTCCS II IDIQ.
This is a 100% on-site position supporting mission-critical simulation and network operations. The Lead Network Engineer will serve as a technical leader responsible for managing network operations, supporting distributed simulation environments, and ensuring reliable communications across multiple systems and events.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and quickly troubleshoot issues across federate systems (both co-located and remote), RTI infrastructure software, client system software, and networking environments
Serve as manager of the JLCCTC Federation and act as a communications hub for multiple simultaneous events
Provide technical recommendations and timeline guidance to government representatives regarding JLCCTC capabilities
Ensure exercise databases are complete, accurate, functional, and delivered on time
Support network architecture, integration, and operational readiness across simulation environments
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Network Management or a related field
(10 years of recent network engineering experience may substitute for degree)
Minimum 5 years of experience in network architecture design and implementation
Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining server platforms and network devices, including firewall configuration
Advanced skills in MS server platforms, switching, firewall configuration, and network troubleshooting
Strong understanding of LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, security practices, storage, backup methodologies, and technology integration
U.S. Citizenship required
Active Secret Security Clearance required
DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II certification (Security+ or equivalent OS certification)
Other Qualifications
Frequent use of hands and arms; prolonged sitting may be required.
Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.
Ability to interpret instructions involving multiple abstract and concrete variables.
