Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Network Engineer 5 . The work will be done onsite full-time in East Peoria, IL , Monday through Friday on 1st shift. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $68.38/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a senior-level Network Engineer to support LAN operations and network infrastructure across multiple enterprise locations in the Americas. This role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and improving LAN environments while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams and business partners. The engineer will play a key role in supporting critical network services, executing infrastructure changes, and driving process improvements. This position is ideal for a hands-on network professional who thrives in complex, on-site enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues, including replacement of defective network components
Provide LAN development and operational support for enterprise locations
Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical incidents, including occasional off-shift or weekend work
Collaborate with business partners and vendors on infrastructure integration activities
Design and implement network process improvements to support scalability and reliability
Follow ITSM processes and documentation standards for all network changes
Work with cross-functional technical teams (firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC) to plan and execute changes
Advise business partners on LAN-related technical questions and solutions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related or engineering-related field , or equivalent experience
5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering or LAN support
Strong knowledge of LAN implementation and support , including TCP/IP, ethernet, QoS, subnetting, VLANs, trunking, OSPF, and cabling (copper and fiber)
Hands-on experience supporting and configuring Cisco switching environments
Solid understanding of network risk domains and tiered architectures
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with network automation or scripting
Familiarity with DNA Center / Catalyst Center
Background supporting medium to large enterprise environments
