Position Description We are seeking a Network Engineer responsible for configuration, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a critical operational network. Provides an engineering resource to support data communications and related applications requirements. Provides administrative support of installed systems
etworks. Responsible for planning and implementing the necessary hardware, software and telecommunications equipment to maintain and/or enhance the organization’s networks. Evaluates vendor products and recommends purchases. Recommends and implements network policies and procedures and ensures adherence to security procedures.
Responsibilities Assist in installations, configurations, upgrades, and maintenance of network equipment (switches, firewalls, and load balancers)
Monitor network performance and troubleshooting
Document network configurations and diagrams
Provide technical support to system operators
Assist in implementing STIG compliance
Desired Knowledge and Skills TCP/IP Model
Routing
Switching
Multi-chassis groups - Multi-Link Aggregation Domain or Switch Aggregation Groups
Link Aggregation Control Protocol 802.3ad
VLANs and VLAN Trunking, (802.1q & 802.3ac)
Network Time Protocol
