Requirements
CompQsoft seeks a Network Engineer with a specialty in Timing and Synchronization to join our engineering team in support of our DoD customer. We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic network engineer to join our DISA team in delivering high quality timing distribution systems. You will be responsible for the technical design, tradeoffs, and development of network layouts and system configurations.
Responsibilities
Engineering, testing, and managing high-precision time distribution systems (PTP/NTP)
Standard project engineering, site
ode designs, testing and Tier III support
Initiate and coordinate with customers sensitive customer timing feeds
Develop site/project-specific system engineering designs to transition current timing feeds to the new timing distribution scheme
Conduct cybersecurity hardening of the Timing and Sync network management servers
Develop detailed test plans, test reports, implementation plans, configuration guides and other technical documentation
Monitor project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Support the acquisition of hardware and software
Work with the installation team to survey sites
Analyze network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements
Support field installers with calibration/testing/troubleshooting methods to ensure all equipment, circuits, and services are successfully implemented
Required Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology management or technical discipline is required with at least 10-years of experience
Experience in Timing architectures and design
Strong understanding of IP networking, frequency, and time synchronization protocols (PTP/NTP)
Experience with one of the following is desired: Microsemi, FEI Zyfer CommSync II, Finisar, Symmetricom
Strong working knowledge of GPS (and the technology behind it - Stratum 1 timing sources, antennas, and Cesium Clocks, etc.)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically, Excel, Word, and Visio; MS Project is a plus
Excellent communication (verbal and written), effective leadership, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
Experience working with DOD
Field Services experience is a plus
