Electrical Engineer – Transmission & Distribution (T&D)
Location:
Syracuse, NY
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to support Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects in the Syracuse area. This role will focus on the design, analysis, and execution of utility infrastructure projects, working closely with project teams and utility clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform engineering design for transmission and distribution systems, including overhead and underground networks
Support substation and power delivery projects through design, analysis, and technical review
Prepare drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
Conduct system studies and calculations (load flow, fault analysis, etc.)
Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and clients to ensure successful project execution
Review and ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and utility requirements
Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
2–8+ years of experience in T&D, power delivery, or utility engineering
Knowledge of transmission lines, distribution systems, and/or substations
Experience with industry software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, SKM, etc.) preferred
Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, and utility standards
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
EIT or PE license (or working toward licensure)
Experience working with utility clients or EPC contractors
