About the Role
A high-profile international bank is seeking a Bilingual (EnglishChinese) Network Engineer for an urgent temp-to-hire opportunity in New York City. This role is fully onsite and offers immediate, hands‑on responsibility for branch network operations, architecture, and security; competitive compensation the salary range is $90.00-110.00 per hour; this role is onsite 5 days per week in Manhattan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced network professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, international financial environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Network Operations & Security Management: Daily network operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution. Conduct fault diagnosis, vendor escalation, system health checks, and disaster recovery activities.
Network Architecture & Standards: Design, optimize, and align network architecture with HQ standards. Evaluate emerging technologies and develop local technical standards.
Network Asset Management: Maintain topology diagrams, VLAN/IP/DNS/domain records, firewall ports, and device lifecycles. Oversee hardware installation, cabling, labeling, power, and inspections.
Version & Patch Management: Install, configure, patch, and upgrade network infrastructure. Coordinate upgrades with HQ and vendors; manage firmware updates.
Business & Financial Management: Work with vendors on budgeting, procurement, contracting, and invoicing. Ensure compliance, service quality, and SLA adherence.
Collaboration & Support: Partner with IT colleagues on projects and provide technical guidance.
Requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3 years of progressive experience in network administration (routers, switches, firewalls, LAN, VPN, Wi‑Fi).
Strong experience in monitoring tools, troubleshooting, and network performance management.
Bilingual English and Mandarin Chinese.
Strong knowledge of network administration, cybersecurity, patch management, incident response, and IT operations.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
Willingness to perform off‑hours updates and respond promptly to incidents.
Effective communicator with strong problem‑solving skills and a sense of responsibility.
Preferred Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CISSP.
