We are seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support a growing network infrastructure in Hawaii. As part of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures that meet mission‑critical requirements.
Responsibilities Work directly with customers in a technical engineering role
Participate in customer planning sessions to define networking requirements
Design and implement communications solutions for field and remote locations supporting secure facility connectivity and cloud‑based data exchange
Assist in designing and implementing approved networking and transport solutions aligned with long‑term IS goals
Install and configure network equipment; provide support to systems administrators
Monitor systems to improve network performance and lead troubleshooting efforts across local and external sites
Apply DoD Information Assurance (IA) policies to the design and maintenance of communications solutions
Manage and maintain a library of network engineering tools for system testing and diagnostics
Apply advanced engineering principles to develop and maintain network standards, procedures, and guidelines
Maintain current knowledge of networking security best practices and implement them across systems
Produce documentation for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operator usage
Contribute technical content and tutorials to product documentation
Support Agile workflows (Jira, Confluence, GitLab)
Provide onsite support in a classified environment (remote work limited to short‑duration NIPR with sponsor approval)
Requirements Location: This position is 100% onsite and based at Camp Smith, Hawaii. No remote or hybrid options are available. Candidates must be able to work full‑time at Camp Smith and maintain daily presence on base to support mission requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience applying engineering principles in a professional environment
Minimum 5 years of experience developing, implementing, and maintaining network architectures
Experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting complex systems and network equipment (TACLANEs, firewalls, routers, switches)
Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible (TS/SCI)
U.S. citizenship is required to obtain security clearances.
IAT Level I certification (Security+ and relevant OS/CE certification)
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Beneficial Skills and Experience Experience supporting cloud‑connected or remote‑site communications architectures
Familiarity with Agile engineering environments (Jira, Confluence, GitLab)
Ability to dynamically prioritize tasks in fast‑paced operational settings
