Title: Network Engineer
KBR’s Mission Engineering Division delivers complex technical solutions and expert support to the U.S. Department of Defense, specializing in modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. KBR collaborates closely with clients to develop innovative and effective solutions while prioritizing data security, privacy, and responsible information management to ensure mission success.
Role & Responsibilities
Configure, support, and maintain LAN/WAN network environments in classified lab and test settings
Assist with network integration for new systems, test events, and lab upgrades
Implement and maintain network and operating system security settings in accordance with DoD STIGs
Support cybersecurity activities related to IATT and ATO efforts by providing technical input and configuration documentation
Create and update technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
Work alongside engineers, IT staff, cybersecurity personnel, and government users to support mission needs and scheduled test activities
Participate in system installs, maintenance windows, and test preparations as required
Basic Qualifications
Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen with an active/current Secret Clearance
Education & Years of Experience: BS/BA from an accredited U.S. institution & 4 years of experience OR AA/AS & 8 years of experience OR High School Diploma & 12 years of experience
IAT Level II certification: CompTia Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CySA+
Travel: Ability to travel for work 25% to 40% (CONUS and OCONUS)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree & 2 years of experience
Familiarity with Webster Field and NAS Patuxent River RDT&E network infrastructure
Cisco Certifications: CCST Networking, CCST Cybersecurity, CCNA, or CCNP
Proficiency with Microsoft Visio; experience with wireless or microwave point-to-point networking; experience with IPSEC VPN and L2TP; familiarity with Linux – RHEL, SUNOS systems
Current U.S. Passport
Travel
25% to 40% (CONUS and OCONUS)

Compensation
$105,000-$143,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign‑on bonus, relocation benefits, short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
