About the Role
We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team and work on end‑to‑end data communication across wireless networks. This role focuses on how data moves through cellular and wireless systems, and how network and transport‑layer protocols behave in real‑world wireless environments where packet loss, latency, and variability are inherent. We are looking for someone with hands‑on exposure to wireless or cellular systems who understands how protocols like TCP/IP behave over lossy wireless links and how different layers of the network stack interact.
What You’ll Do
Work on and/or analyze end‑to‑end wireless communication systems, from the wireless link through the transport layer
Understand and troubleshoot data transfer behavior in cellular or other wireless environments
Analyze the impact of packet loss, latency, and variability on transport protocols such as TCP
Collaborate across systems, networking, and engineering teams to improve performance and reliability
Apply a systems‑level perspective when evaluating networking behavior in wireless environments
Support development, testing, or optimization of wireless or cellular networked systems
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including how data moves end‑to‑end across a network, basic routing concepts, core networking protocols
Strong understanding of TCP/IP behavior, particularly in lossy or unreliable wireless systems
Experience working with or analyzing packet loss and its effect on upper‑layer protocols
Background in production or real‑world wireless systems, not just academic or lab settings
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working at or with telecom providers or cellular infrastructure companies
Exposure to carrier‑grade or large‑scale wireless networks
Experience with performance analysis, diagnostics, or optimization in wireless environments
Systems, telecom, networking, or wireless engineering background
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across teams
Nice to Have Technical Areas
LTE / 5G architectures
TCP congestion control and retransmission behavior
Wireless performance and reliability analysis
Transport‑layer protocol behavior over wireless links
End‑to‑end network stack understanding
Why This Role Matters
Wireless networks introduce unique challenges—in particular packet loss, unpredictable latency, and variability—that fundamentally affect how data is transmitted. This role plays a key part in understanding and improving how systems behave under those real‑world conditions.
Job Type & Location – Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $85.00 - $100.00/hr.
Medical, dental & vision
Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital
