Required Qualifications

Previous experience as a Network Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level

Minimum of 8 years’ experience with a BS/BA degree or 6 years’ experience with a MS/MA or 3 years’ experience with a PhD. or 12 years' w/o a degree or 10 years' with AS/AA

A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level

US citizenship is required

DoD 8140 role for WRC: 441; Element: IT; Work Role: Network Operations Specialist; Proficiency Level: Intermediate / ability to obtain

Desired Qualifications

DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.

Work Environment

Location: MacDill AFB, FL

On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking

Travel: May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments

Responsibilities

Serves as a lead network engineering expert within the PMO, driving the management of enterprise-level and site-specific network capability/capacity projects and holding significant responsibility for the technical integrity of their associated PRDs.

Leads the identification and definition of technical, architectural, and systematic paths for complex network integration activities, major expansions, and critical site activations, directly influencing the scope and requirements of PRDs, contributing to development of Approved Product Lists and Market Research Reports.

Architects and evaluates strategic network solutions, providing expert technical advice to Government leadership POCs on optimizing network capabilities, mitigating risks, and ensuring long-term operational effectiveness, as captured in PRDs. This includes advanced routing/switching designs, QoS implementation, and multi-domain network segmentation.

Develops and presents high-level technical and architectural roadmaps for C2ISR network systems, influencing PMO decisions on technology adoption, resource allocation, and program direction, and ensuring PRDs reflect these strategic choices.

Directs and coordinates cross-functional teams to integrate network technical considerations into broader C2ISR projects, resolving complex architectural and technical challenges, and ensuring PRD alignment and feasibility for global deployments.

Functions as a technical expert across multiple high-impact network assignments, guiding junior and journeyman engineers, and contributing significantly to the strategic expansion and modernization of global C2ISR network infrastructure through the PRD process.
