Role Summary
We are seeking a senior commercial builder to lead strategic customer development across Michigan.
This is:
not a product sales role
not a relationship management role
This is a problem-solving and solution-building role .
You will work with:
ports
terminals
industrial operators
carriers
government stakeholders
Your job is to:
identify operational pain
design solutions
close deals using Glīd’s evolving capabilities
Solutions may include:
software platforms
automation systems
vehicles or equipment
infrastructure integrations
workflow redesign
new service models
hybrid hardware/software systems
Your responsibility is not to sell a fixed product.
Your responsibility is to build the right solution.

Full Michigan commercial pipeline
Port and terminal partnerships
Industrial park customer acquisition
Carrier and shortline relationships
Shipper relationships tied to ROI
Government and institutional relationships
Market intelligence
CRM discipline and reporting
Glīd brand presence in the region
Key Responsibilities
Map and prioritize the Michigan market
Build relationships with ports and terminals
Develop industrial park opportunities
Engage carriers and railroads
Run structured discovery with shippers
Quantify cost savings (dwell, throughput, cost per move)
Build proposals and pricing models
Negotiate and close deals
Manage government relationships
Collaborate with leadership (CEO + engineering)
Represent Glīd at industry events
Maintain CRM hygiene
Feed insights into product and GTM strategy
Required Qualifications
7+ years in business development / enterprise sales
Experience in logistics, freight, rail, ports, or infrastructure
Proven ability to close complex deals
Experience with:
enterprise software
hardware systems
automation platforms
infrastructure technology
Deep understanding of logistics ecosystem
Experience with public-private stakeholders
Strong commercial instincts
High autonomy operator
Strong executive presence
Based in or willing to relocate to Detroit
Preferred Qualifications
Michigan port / terminal relationships
Experience with shortline railroads
Industrial park / manufacturing logistics experience
Shipper-side experience (commodities)
Startup or growth-stage experience
Mobility-as-a-service familiarity
Government / economic development experience
Understanding of autonomous logistics tech

High autonomy expected
Compensation
Base: $90,000 – $105,000
OTE: $150,000 – $160,000
Commission: performance-based
