The Service Technician position is responsible for supporting other members of the Service Team to assemble, commission, train and troubleshoot printing and paper converting equipment. The successful candidate will be expected to work both independently and within a team.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities:
· Setting up new equipment, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring proper operation.
· Diagnosing technical problems, repairing or replacing faulty components, and restoring equipment functionality.
· Providing service and customer support during field visits and provide remote support
· Work collaboratively with other technicians, supervisors and engineers
· Communicate problems, solutions and observations when onsite to office management and complete detailed documentation of all work performed in a timely manner
· Adhering to company procedures and safety protocols while working in various environments.
· Availability to perform duties outside of normal working hours as required
Requirements:
· Completed technical education and/or experience in electrical engineering / electronics / mechatronics / mechanics
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills
2 Years Experience in:
PLC Programming & Troubleshooting: Proficiency in Ladder Logic (most common), Structured Text, and functional block diagrams for Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems.
Electrical & Electronics: Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), sensors, and reading schematics.
HMI/SCADA Systems: Designing and configuring HMI screens and SCADA systems for operator control and data monitoring.
Industrial Networking & Protocols: Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and Modbus for communication between machines.
Mechanical Aptitude: Assembling, aligning, and repairing mechanical components, conveyors, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
· Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
· Be able to promote, build and maintain good customer service
· Ability to travel domestically up to 50% during the work week, weekend travel is rare but may occur occasionally. Limited travel to Italy and South America may also be required.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
