Director/Senior Electronics Design Engineer
Applications are invited for a Director/Senior Electronics Design Engineer (DSEDE) in the Instrumentation Design Lab at the Dept. of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Kansas beginning as early as July 1, 2026.

This position requires an MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline with at least one year of experience in electronics design, or a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline with greater than five years’ experience. Candidates should have at least two years’ experience with high-performance PCB design, at least one year of experience with HDLs/firmware: encompassing coding, simulating, or optimizing FPGAs and CPLDs; expertise in modern analog, digital and mixed-signal electronics; and demonstrated evidence of creativity, inventiveness, and attention to detail, having successfully completed previous relevant projects.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the Laboratory and budgets and must have a demonstrated aptitude for leading a technical team for at least two years.
