
Senior Permitting Specialist (Fargo)

You will take ownership of environmental and land-use permitting across multiple projects, working closely with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory bodies to move projects from early-stage development through approval.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading
local, state, and federal permitting processes
across multiple jurisdictions
Preparing and managing permit applications and supporting documentation
Representing the company in
public meetings, hearings, and stakeholder engagements
Managing environmental review processes including:
Wetlands
Endangered species
Cultural/archaeological resources
Watershed and water use
Air permitting and engineering reviews
Coordinating and managing external consultants and technical advisors
Supporting project siting, mapping, and planning alongside GIS teams
Contributing to
community engagement strategies
Monitoring and analyzing evolving regulatory and policy frameworks
Supporting broader project development strategy and execution
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, or a related field
7+ years of environmental permitting experience
Strong working knowledge of:
NEPA processes
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
State Historic Preservation Offices
State Public Utility Commissions
Experience navigating state and local zoning / land-use processes
Confident communicator with experience presenting to public and regulatory audiences
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
