PBX Operator - Communications

Responsibilities
Responsible for answering all incoming calls into the hospital's main telephone number, physician's answering service and in‑house operator calls; provides in‑person visitor information, reception, and paging. Coordinates all emergency communications to include Trauma Codes, Codes 4, NICU, Codes Red, Codes Blue, Codes Yellows, Codes 900, and Helicopter Landing. Monitors Hospital Alarm Panels, handles all Fire and Disaster Drills and operates hospital two‑way radios.

Required Qualifications

Previous switchboard experience in a healthcare setting.

Answering service experience or answering phones at large organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Healthcare.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
