Interim Director of Utilization Management Needed in San Ramon, CA!
The Position
An Interim Director of Utilization Management is needed to lead utilization management operations.
Reporting to the Vice President, this leader will oversee a team of approximately ten FTEs.
Key responsibilities include stabilizing the department, overseeing referral review processes, managing utilization management audits, developing corrective action plans, monitoring program metrics, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve operational performance.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in utilization management, including referral management, auditing, and regulatory compliance. Experience with Epic Tapestry authorization systems is highly desired, along with knowledge of CMS and DMHC requirements. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
Active California RN license required.
Progressive clinical leadership experience required, with experience in utilization management, case management, referral processes, and payer or managed care environments.

Compensation Details
Compensation Range: $170,000 to $180,000 annually.
The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
The listed base compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments.
