Position Summary The Marketing Intern will support the marketing team while gaining hands-on, real-world experience across multiple areas of marketing, including advertising, digital marketing, communications, project management, research and analytics, and creative development.
The primary objective of this role is to develop a comprehensive understanding of how various marketing functions, such as media buying, project management, digital marketing and communications, work collaboratively to drive effective strategies that support the Dr. Phillips Center’s mission, vision, and business goals.
Additionally, the Intern will have the opportunity to engage with and shadow cross-functional departments to gain insight into how different areas of the organization contribute to the overall success of the arts center.
This internship will run from June 1, 2026- August 7, 2026.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Research marketing opportunities to effectively reach target audiences for shows, education programs, and institutional brand awareness
Identify and qualify local events and local businesses to support and coordinate street team activations and grassroots promotional efforts
Analyze campaign performance data and assist with marketing recaps and reporting
Contribute creative ideas and content to the social media and digital content calendar
Assist with show marketing efforts and campaign execution as needed
Provide support for marketing administrative processes, including invoice coordination
Attend all required Dr. Phillips Center intern training, meetings, professional development sessions, and select special events.
Follow and support all operational policies and procedures. Assimilate into the arts center culture through understanding, supporting and demonstrating the core values.
Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with other departments, colleagues, and partners.
Able to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Maintain Dr. Phillips Center standards of customer service at all times.
Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Current enrollment or recent graduation (25–26 school year) from an undergraduate or graduate program in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field. Preference will be given to undergraduate students entering their junior or senior year.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and take initiative in supporting team efforts
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to follow direction effectively while seeking clarification when needed
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, confidentiality and the ability to navigate challenges with tact and diplomacy
Ability to perform mildly complex mathematical functions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
Special Conditions of Employment This position requires the ability to work a variable schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs.
Office hours: must be available to work daytime hours Monday-Friday. Exact hours/days can be flexible based on school schedule.
Valid Florida Driver's License preferred. Must have reliable transportation to be able to travel off-site as required (Mileage will be reimbursed at the Federal Mileage Rate).
Physical Requirements The following physical requirements must be met, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Ability to be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. with assistance.
Ability to work at heights and climb ladders as required.
