
Sr Design Engineer

Founded in 2015, Hanwha Cimarron designs, manufactures, and tests composite pressure vessels for a variety of aerospace and industrial uses – including rockets, submersibles, and much more. We specialize in all types of composite pressure vessels for various industrial/storage uses.

Some of the essential duties include:
Design, optimize, and manufacture composite overwrap pressure vessels.
Develop and build prototypes and run tests to measure their level of function.
Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance and efficiency standards.
Generate 3D models, technical drawing packages, and process documentation.
Write and update all processes and procedures specifications as needed.
Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required.
Research competitor products quarterly and collaborate with product development team to generate ideas for making our products the best ones on the market.
Calculate cost estimates for final product designs, and release reports to supervisors, incorporating costs of labor, material, delivery and overhead.
Attend weekly team meetings to provide progress reports, obtain updates on colleagues’ progress, strategize steps for following week and acquire information about projected emerging product lines.
In order to take on these challenges you will need to have:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET- accredited program.
Three years’ work experience as an engineer in a design function.
Proven ability to find practical solutions to real-world problems.
Proficiency with CREO or similar CAD software and Microsoft Office.
You will be most successful if you also have:
Coursework and experience in composites testing, particularly composite overwrap pressure vessels
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment and data acquisition.
