2026 Intern - Machine Learning Engineer Job at Adobe in San Jose

Adobe, San Jose, CA, United States

The Opportunity

Adobe’s Growth Marketing & Insights (GMI) organization is seeking an Applied AI Engineer Intern to join its AI Strategy & Innovation team, a lean group focused on advancing marketing through generative AI solutions. This internship offers hands‑on experience building applications that leverage LLMs, agentic workflows, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) to drive marketing efficiency, insight, and engagement.

As an intern, you will contribute to the design and deployment of AI systems that support strategic marketing initiatives, collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve real‑world challenges, and explore emerging techniques in LLMs and machine learning. You will be part of a team that values innovation, experimentation, and impact.

All 2026 Adobe interns will be co‑located hybrid. This means that interns will work between their assigned office and home. Interns will be based in the office where their manager and/or team are located, where they will get the most support to ensure collaboration and the best employee experience. Managers and their organization will determine the frequency they need to go into the office to meet priorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to address AI‑related challenges in marketing workflows.

  • Present findings and recommendations to collaborators across the organization.

  • Stay informed on the latest trends in LLM development and applications.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Currently enrolled full‑time and pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.

  • Proven experience building and deploying LLM‑powered applications, with expertise in RAG, autonomous workflows, and multi‑agent systems (e.g., A2A, and MCP or equivalent experience).

  • Familiarity with end‑to‑end machine learning pipelines.

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).

  • Familiarity with marketing performance metrics and their application in AI models.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to present results to non‑technical partners.

  • Availability to participate in a full‑time internship between May and September.
