Position Overview
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physician with strong primary care experience to provide outpatient clinical support in a resident training environment. This role focuses on supervising and mentoring residents while ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and teach internal medicine residents during outpatient clinic sessions
Precept patient encounters and co-manage care with residents
Perform direct patient evaluations when appropriate, especially with junior trainees
Provide real-time verbal feedback and complete written evaluations in a timely manner
Oversee clinical workflow, including inbox management, prescription refills, and follow-ups
Collaborate with another attending physician during clinic sessions
Patient Volume
Approximately
patients per half-day session
Typically
5 6 learners per session , depending on training level
Call Schedule
Shared call rotation approximately
1:3
Residents take first call; attending provides backup support as needed
Requirements
Board-certified or board-eligible in
Internal Medicine
Active and unrestricted medical license
Prior
primary care experience required
Experience working with residents or in a teaching/precepting role preferred
Work Environment
Outpatient clinic setting
Collaborative, team-based care model
Academic-style environment with a focus on education and mentorship
Compensation Details
Daily overtime applicable after 8 hours
Weekly overtime applicable after 168 hours
