
Lead Product Design Engineer

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our special projects team to lead development of complex electromechanical consumer hardware products from concept through production. This role involves ownership across the full product lifecycle, including architecture, CAD, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing scale-up, working closely with cross-functional engineering and product teams. You’ll help shape next-generation sensor-integrated hardware systems in a fast-paced environment with strong technical ownership and visibility.
Responsibilities
Architect and design complex electromechanical systems incorporating plastics, metals, soft goods, sensors, and actuators
Drive development from concept through CAD, prototyping, testing, and ramp to production
Partner cross-functionally with electrical, software, reliability, manufacturing, and product teams
Perform thermal, structural, and fluid analyses to validate product performance
Support manufacturing transfer and scale production with overseas partners
Contribute to product direction alongside industrial design, marketing, and leadership stakeholders
Requirements
3+ years of experience designing high-volume consumer hardware products
Strong experience with injection molding, sheet metal forming, and sensor/electronics integration
High proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or similar)
Experience with DFM/DFA, tolerance stack-ups, and GD&T
Familiarity with root cause analysis, DOEs, and engineering validation methodologies
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed to support manufacturing scale-up
