Job Summary
Any intern or co‑op working at a GD‑OTS location.
Responsibilities
Provides support to technical employees in my area of study.
Assists with technical tasks and project support.
Supports equipment set up and monitors tests and experiments.
Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports.
Learns technical processes and procedures.
Shadowing more experienced professionals and support staff.
Support documentation and updates of procedures or work instructions.
Handles basic issues and problems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in related technical courses or within 6 months of graduation. No prior experience needed.
Must be enrolled in a technical college or degree‑seeking program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work as part of a team.
Oral and written communication skills.
Attentiveness.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Physical Requirements
Must remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
May need to stand for long periods.
Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
Travel Requirements
No or very little travel likely.
