
Facilities Communications Technician-MSH-Full Time Days

Job Description
The Facilities Communication Technician monitors all Building Management System, Pneumatic Tube System, Vertical Transportation Control Systems, BSL3 Laboratory Systems, Facility Communication Systems, Work Order Control System and other facility related systems.
Responds to complaints throughout the Medical Center. Adjusts temperature and fan controls utilizing the various Building Automation Systems. Notifies the appropriate Management of any safety issues concerning equipment malfunctions (e.g. elevator entrapments, leaks, all urgent patient care issues, etc.). S/he monitors the radio communications of the facility personnel and assists Management in the total coordination of work and emergency operations.
Qualifications
Education Requirements: HS/GED; Associates Degree is preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirements: 2+ years of customer service desk experience or other customer service-related experience.
Licensing and Certification Requirements (if applicable): None
Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSH
Responsibilities
Receives communications from various customers, generates work orders from information received, transmits work orders to the appropriate personnel to remedy concerns, escalates concerns to Management when appropriate and manages Work Order Flow.
Manages all TeamOps transactions and makes corrections when appropriate.
Reports all Laboratory emergencies to appropriate personnel via Urgent Call log.
Tracks Funded Project labor and material charges.
Generates various reports from systems under their control.
Supervises task assignments for maintenance personnel assigned to Work Control.
Operates a variety of computer software such as Windows Office, Johnson Controls MetaSys, Seamens Apogee, and other BMS systems software, TeamOps, etc.
Generates special Life Safety and Environment of Care Work orders to track deficiencies.
Coordinates emergency response of Facility personnel and contacts additional personnel.
Monitors elevator operation including entrapment status and coordinates Elevator Service Technician efforts.
Directs Pneumatic Tube System alarms to appropriate repair personnel.
Directs Nurse Call System problems to appropriate staff personnel.
Serves as a Point-of-Contact for internal and external Fire Safety personnel.
Coordinates the efforts with outside contractors during off hours.
Performs other related duties.

Compensation Statement
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $31.72 - $33.9508 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
