Virtual Design Technician
IMEG is hiring a Virtual Design Technician in Columbus, OH to produce models and documentation using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. In this role you’ll work closely with other Technicians/Coordinators, Designers, and Engineers on projects—supporting mechanical and electrical system design—while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will also be expected to work within the project’s monetary budget.
Principal Responsibilities
Model, edit, rework, and update models and drawings as communicated by project designers through markups
Collaborate with other team members to develop coordinated models and drawings
Assist engineers and designers with field measurements of existing building systems and prepare models and drawings from field data
Export documents and transfer files to clients
Follow established standards for modeling and production of drawings and ensure work product meets company quality expectations
Coordinate models and workflow between members of the design team
Required Qualifications And Skills
Associate degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) preferred
No experience required
Revit skills desired
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans and models desired
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering as‑built drawings desired
Basic experience in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues and clients
Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
High level of professionalism; this position is not eligible for sponsorship

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $62,000 – $76,000. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
