Entry Level Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview Title: Engineer I
Reports to: Product Team Member
Supervises: Designer / Drafter
Primary Responsibilities The major responsibilities are summarized below:
Design and specification of Subsea E&P equipment within the designated product area
Develop knowledge of ABCO equipment design philosophy and technologies
Provide quality checks and verification of peer and subordinate work functions
Provide testing requirements, troubleshooting reports, and other documentation.
Work Activities To undertake the above responsibilities, the Engineer I shall:
Write design Scope of Work of equipment for Client Approval
Plan work scope activities and enter data to management control software
Generate design qualification documents including design reports, test procedures, and test reports.
Develop expertise in specific engineering skill sets nominated by management
Encourage peers to actively pursue new technology areas to the benefit of the Company
Participate in professional societies and organizations
Work as a team member of the assigned product group
Initiate and maintain an active level of personal and professional growth
This position requires some commercial activities
Qualifications B.Sc Degree in Engineering
Work experience in mechanical design in the offshore oil industry
Familiarity with 3D CAD (AUTODESK Inventor Preferred)
EIT designation preferred
Competency Requirements Have obtained a undergraduate degree in a field of Engineering from an accredited university
Have 2 years of work experience in the field of mechanical design and manufacturing
Can demonstrate practical problem-solving skills
Can demonstrate proficiency in 3D design
Can demonstrate a proficiency in the manufacturing process
