General Job Description

The production team member is responsible for covering entry-level production positions in various shifts. These positions are responsible for assembling raw parts and subassemblies as established in the operation sheets. This role will also have the responsibility for product quality and ensuring customer requirements are met.

Schedules

  • First shift is generally Monday to Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Second shift is generally Monday to Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Third shift is generally Sunday to Friday, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Exact start and end time may vary depending on specific line schedules.

What You Will Do

  • Achieve department objectives by assembling and inspecting small parts and/or operating machines to manufacture high-quality products for our customer.
  • Be responsible for being an active participant in teamwork towards continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for performing off-line tasks, such as downtime reports, maintenance, and ordering supplies.
  • Must take initiative to solve problems as a member of the production team to produce high-quality work in sufficient quantity using your knowledge of the job.
  • Rotate and perform effectively all assigned positions within the department.
  • Demonstrate responsibility with respect to assigned equipment through attendance, safety, effective communication, and maintenance.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude that is evident through good attendance, ability to follow work instructions, willingness to participate, use of proper safety procedures, ability to work closely and collaboratively with diverse people, communication, and active participation in team meetings.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies, and perform all tasks safely, including, but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

What You Bring

  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to read and understand operation sheets in English or Spanish.
  • Meet the following physical requirements:
  • High level of hand dexterity and coordination. Some assembly processes require repetitive actions of grasping, pushing, holding, lifting, and manipulating forces and weights up to 4.9 lbs.
  • Corrected vision 20/30 with color recognition.
  • Ability to stand, be stationary, or move for 8 hours.
  • Some duties require lifting up to 35 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Some positions may require safe handling, use, and disposal of common cleaning and manufacturing chemicals, including alcohol, acetone, and others, in accordance with proper safety protocols and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Some duties require bending your body, stretching, squatting, or assuming positions to load and unload materials from shelves, platforms, and vehicles of different heights frequently and repetitively.
  • Other physical requirements may apply to some positions.

What Will Help

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of manufacturing experience.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, untreated glass, repetitive motions, and hazardous materials (e.g., flammable, toxic, or corrosive chemicals). The work environment has controlled temperature and the noise level is generally moderate. Team members will receive personal protective equipment, as needed, to protect against identified hazards and promote a safe work environment. Manufacturing work environments require constant vigilance and adherence to best practices, policies, and safety procedures. The full-time production team member position may require mandatory overtime, including weekends. Overtime needs depend on the business and requirements are subject to change.
