Columbia County Public Safety Communications is seeking applicants to fill the full-time position of E-911 Public Safety Telecommunicator.
Applicants must be able to work 12‑hour shifts, overtime hours, holidays, and may be required to work additional shifts.
Responsibilities
Receive and prioritize emergency and non‑emergency telephone calls from the public.
Process information with the aid of a computer‑aided dispatch (CAD) system.
Dispatch appropriate public safety agencies, including police, fire, and emergency medical units.
Monitor public safety units in the field.
Retrieve and enter computer data for law enforcement personnel.
Monitor alarm systems.
Operate security devices and other related communications equipment.
