We are looking for an Associate Systems Engineer who has a strong analytical mind set around today’s technology and ability to understand Cisco and Meraki networks. This candidate will perform an integral role in the planning of the school’s network technology refresh program for a large K-12 client. Primary responsibility, as part of a Survey and Design team will be to review, interpret and create wireless network designs for our K-12 schools. This person must be able to work in our Hauppauge office.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000/year
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviewing and understanding site survey documents and existing as built for wired and wireless networks
Understanding of wireless devices, access layer switches, core switches and how to identify/locate them on a network via Cisco CLI
Experience and ability to understand the function, use and data of Wi‑Fi tools Ekahau a plus
Ability to generate reports through templates created in a Wi‑Fi tool
Ability to generate Active and Predictive surveys using Wi‑Fi tools using Ekahau a plus
Ability to comprehend and adhere to Program’s technical standards
Ability to navigate excel to interpret survey documents and produce deliverables
Skilled with organization, decision making and time management
Completing all program defined deliverables in a timely manner
Ability to follow standard procedure to generate network designs and other related documents for configuration and integration
Work directly with the client’s Field Project Managers (FPMs)
Ability to work within a team environment or independently
QUALIFICATIONS
Cisco CCNA completed a plus
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Excel, advanced functions
Understanding of VLANs and Network infrastructure
Understanding of Networking technologies
Cisco/ Meraki Wireless experience/knowledge
Upbeat personality, professional demeanor, and "gets-the-job done" mentality
Excellent customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of databases, File Maker (preferred)
