Groundskeeper / Landscaper

We are seeking a full-time employee or contractor to maintain our private Estate grounds and exterior of buildings, including lawns, gardens, plants, trees, drives and walks, pool area, garages, etc. Position will report to homeowners and Estate Finance Manager. Grounds/Landscape/Exterior Maintenance responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Maintenance of Estate Grounds to “Resort Quality” for Enjoyment of Owners and Guests Landscape Services including Maintenance and Design Improvements (limited mowing) Irrigation Optimization and Maintenance/Repairs of Broken Pipes, Replacing Heads, etc. Hand Watering Plants in Pots and Gardens where there is No Irrigation or Poor Soil Helping Maintain Cleanliness of Exterior Buildings and Structures; remove mud daubers Wiping off outdoor railings, ledges, patio furniture, etc. during pollen season/when dusty Raking/Blowing Leaves & Debris on Lawn, in Gardens/Beds, on Walks/Driveways, etc. Weeding, Planting, Mulching, Gardening, Lawn Care Trimming/Pruning Trees, Hedges, Vines, Grasses, etc. for Health and Beauty Annual Cutbacks in Fall/Spring to Ensure Plant Health and Beauty of Grounds Maintain Grasses and Flowers along Street and on Grounds to Benefit Honeybees Annual/As-Needed Replacement of Seasonal or Sick Flowers and Plants Assist with Green House and Vegetable Garden Planting, Watering, Maintenance, etc. Winterizing & Preparing Outdoors for Bad Weather to Minimize Risk of Damage Sweeping/Blowing/Mopping Patios, Driveways, Paths and Stairs Trimming Low Hanging/broken Tree Limbs; Moving and Stacking Firewood Fertilizing and Treating for Fire Ants and other Pests Replacing Burnt Out Landscape Light Bulbs; Keeping Up-Light Bulb Covers Clean Power Washing Stone Surfaces including Walks, Drives, Stairs, Walls, etc. Skimming Pools and Fountains between Pool Service Visits Ordering and Maintaining Supplies and Inventory needed for Job Maintaining Clean and Organized Equipment and Supply Storage Areas/Garages Collecting Daily Trash and Setting Out Trash Cans for Weekly Pickup Proactively Identifying and Preventing Problems Assisting Management, Employees, and Vendors with Special Projects Responsibility for Select Vendors (Lawn Service, Pool Service, Tree Service, etc.) Maintaining Instructions/Procedures/Calendars Explaining How/When Tasks are Done Other Support and Activities as Requested by Management/Owners Requirements and Skills Needed: Legally able to work in the United States Fluent in English (both spoken and written); Bilingual in Spanish a plus Good Communicator/Collaborative Team Player Pleasant, Considerate, and Polite Organized/Efficient Must have great attention to detail Ability to function with limited direction or oversight Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation Must have a cell phone for easy access 10+ years of verifiable, related work experience (landscaping, lawncare, nursery, cleaning, etc.) Knowledge of local plants and proper landscape maintenance practices Able to pass criminal background check, credit check, and drug test Reliable/Long-Term Commitment Trustworthy/Discrete/Honest/Able to uphold Strict Privacy and Confidentiality Requirements Able to supply 3 non-family references Non-Smoker/Non-Vaper Good mobility with ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend, or reach for extended periods of time Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions including hot, humid, wet, cold, etc. Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds Familiar with basic garden/maintenance equipment and tools Local Applicants Only – No Relocation Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 10 - 15 years Salary: $25 - $35 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
