Position Summary
The John C. Hench Division of Animation + Digital Arts seeks an Adjunct Associate Professor to teach a comprehensive animation history course for the Fall 2026 semester.
Responsibilities
- Teach an in‑person course covering the beginnings of animation, its innovations, contemporary practices, and future directions.
- Develop and deliver curricula, assignments, and assessments that reflect industry practices and historical context.
- Engage students in discussions and projects that encourage critical analysis of animation history.
Qualifications
- Significant professional experience at major animation studios and current industry engagement.
- Solid understanding of the history of animation.
- Preferred: Prior teaching experience at the college level or with professional workshops/mentorships.
- Minimum: BA or BFA from an accredited university; at least 8 years in animated features or episodic series.
Compensation & Employment
Hourly rate: $38 – $43.75 per hour. 25% FTE adjunct position.
