Position Overview
The School District of Springfield Township (SDST) is a public school district located in Montgomery County, PA serving K-12 students. We seek a dedicated High School Art teacher for grades 9-12.
Qualifications
Active Pennsylvania Art K-12 certification is required.
Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required.
Experience in 2D & 3D Art preferred.

Our Visual Arts program is dedicated to offering inclusive, equitable, and accessible K-12 art programming built on culturally responsive pedagogy and national visual arts standards. Students experience 2D, 3D, and digital arts, and develop complex concepts through personal expression and community exhibitions.
Description
The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, energetic student engagement, and strong relationship building within the school community. The teacher will contribute to the High School Art Department and support the district’s vision for equity in arts education.
Responsibilities
Create instructional spaces for student discussion, advocacy, and critique.
Construct student-centered classrooms and environments.
Foster peer review and feedback relationships among students.
Support students in creating artwork based on personal inspiration.
Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Profile of a Graduate.
Design learning experiences that meet diverse needs and learning styles.
Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Create a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment supporting academic and social-emotional learning.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and performance.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about progress and activities.
Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.
Terms of Employment
Full-time, contracted position under the collective bargaining agreement. Start date: August 24, 2026, with induction week of August 17, 2026. External candidates will need State Police Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints, Health Record, Arrest/Conviction Report, and Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Releases.
