The Department of Art and Design at Monmouth University is seeking an Adjunct Professor who uses critical pedagogical approaches to teach the Surveys of Western Art. The Western Survey is offered in two parts: Prehistoric to Gothic during the Fall, and Renaissance to Contemporary during the Spring. Preference is given to faculty who can also teach Intro-level Art Appreciation or some of our 300-level, writing-intensive offerings in Art History, as needed. These courses include African American Art, History of Graphic Design, and Gender, Art, and Society.

Responsibilities

Teach 3-6 credits during the semester.

Develop and deliver course lectures, discussions, and assignments in accordance with curriculum and learning objectives.

Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and academic success.

Develop and administer projects and exams to evaluate student learning outcomes and provide grades in a timely manner.

Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to support their learning and development.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Art or a related field.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
