Position
As a Design Consultant , you will play a key role in guiding homeowners through the interior selections process. The Design Consultant will assist homeowners with all aspects of their home’s interior customization including finishes, upgrades, electrical, plumbing, and design modifications, ensuring each decision reflects both the homeowner’s vision and Camcos Living’s high standards of quality and craftsmanship. This role combines customer service excellence, strong design knowledge, and a solid understanding of estimating and construction processes to deliver a seamless and informed experience for every homeowner.

Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Appointment Management

Schedule homeowner appointments using online scheduling templates with any additional resources provided (e.g., catalogues).

Prepare for appointments, including by reviewing and organizing floor plans, kitchen 3Ds, Agreement of Purchase & Sale, and validating pricing for lots.

Ensure all systems are properly set up for both online and in-studio appointments, including samples and offerings.

Complete communication templates, homeowner materials, and all online/in-studio setup requirements.

Handle homeowner escalations with professionalism, consulting the Director as needed to ensure a positive resolution.

Conduct homeowner appointments, ensuring a seamless, professional, and customer-focused experience.

Maximize Design Studio performance to meet the established sales and satisfaction targets.

Deliver exceptional customer service with consistent and transparent communication.

Communicate and provide the site team with any clarification or information required.

Schedule monthly site visits to ensure installed upgrades and offerings align with the customer’s design vision.

Meet or exceed performance goals related to Sales and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT/AVID targets).

Monitor category performance and proactively recommend strategies to meet or exceed goals.

Studio Operations & Collaboration

Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment, encouraging teamwork while upholding superior performance standards.

Provide regular feedback and support to Management and the Design Studio Team.

Collaborate with the Design Associate to maintain brand image and presentation standards within the Design Studio.

Communicate with internal partners on design options or selection concerns, offering timely feedback and recommendations.

Collaborate with cross-functional partners on the setup and optimization of the BuilderTrend system for the Design Studio to support efficiency and strong customer satisfaction.

Documentation & Administrative Duties

Prepare and submit all final documentation (e.g., colour charts, waivers, sketches) accurately and on time to the appropriate departments.

Product Knowledge & Industry Awareness

Participate in Product Knowledge sessions to stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and new products.

Maintain and update the product and finishes catalogue as directed by the Design Studio.

What You Bring

Education: Post‑secondary education in Interior Design or a related field; sales experience is an asset.

Customer Experience: Strong background in customer service, sales, or retail, with a proven ability to build positive client relationships.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with floor plans, cabinet 3D drawings, and Agreements of Purchase and Sale is highly recommended.

Sales Expertise: Demonstrated capacity to apply effective selling techniques to achieve strong results while aligning with customer needs, preferences, and budgets.

Presentation Skills: Ability to confidently articulate and present design options in a clear, engaging, and informative manner.

Organization & Time Management: Exceptional skill in prioritizing tasks, staying organized, and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills, supported by strong active listening abilities.

Collaboration & Independence: Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative Design team environment.

Technology Proficiency: Comfortable conducting effective in‑person, virtual, and online appointments using platforms such as Microsoft Teams and BuilderTrend.

Adaptability: Proven capacity to learn quickly, embrace change, and thrive in an evolving work environment.

Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and PDF Editor.

Additional Assets

Industry Experience: Background in sales, retail, or consulting, with proven success in customer‑focused environments.

Homebuilding Knowledge: Prior experience in the building industry, particularly with Lowrise and Midrise residential products.

Language Skills: Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered a strong asset.

Technical Proficiency: Experience using platforms such as BuilderTrend, Jonas, Spark and DocuSign.
