Responsibilities
Assist in design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team.
Assist in project planning and scheduling to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Document design decisions and monitor design progression.
Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions.
Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet standards and client requirements.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and mitigate potential safety risks associated with mechanical systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals and client expectations.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
Preferred: Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry.
Preferred: Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.
Essential skills: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts; strong analytical skills; proficiency with HVAC load calculation software; BIM software familiarity; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; teamwork; attention to detail; problem-solving; eagerness to learn and adapt; basic BIM; proficiency with MS Office Suite; ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.
