Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides a comprehensive curriculum for advanced Visual Arts.
Teaches Sections of Art 2, Advanced Art, and AP art
Assist with the implementation of best classroom practices in accordance with local and state standards.
Collaborates with the Fine Arts Director in the planning and preparation of the annual Fine Arts Showcase.
Collaborates with the Elementary, Middle, and High School Visual Arts team to create high quality vertical alignment within the district.
Has exceptional organizational skills.
Has taught Art prior to current employment.
Advocates for Fine Arts scholar needs.
Attends ongoing professional development with the district Fine Arts team
Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment
Is an active member of TAEA
Annually participates in V.A.S.E.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Relative experience with teaching high school level art
Exceptional organizational skills
Knowledge and Skills:
Deep‑seated belief in the mission and vision of Austin Achieve
Be willing to do “whatever it takes” to ensure all scholars learn
Hold all scholars to the highest expectations
Excellent classroom management and teaching skills
Experience in collaboratively developing lesson and unit plans
