Job Overview
This is a six-month fixed term full-time position with benefits. This role is open to remote work for those located in the United States or Canada, although preference is given to those who are willing to relocate/live locally.

Position Summary
The person we’re looking for:

PUBG Madison is looking for an experienced and versatile Hard Surface Artist to join our team. to help create high- quality, detailed, and realistic assets. You will collaborate closely with multiple disciplines to define the look and aesthetic feel of weapons, and other hard‑surface elements. A strong passion for crafting assets that not only look stunning but also feel authentic in gameplay is essential to creating best‑in‑class art. If you have experience building photorealistic weapons and are excited about contributing to this effort, we’d love to see your application! This role reports to the Lead of Player Art.

Responsibilities

Create game-ready weapons and other hard surface assets from concept to final polish.

Work with Leads, Concept Artists, Designers, Animators, and Engineers to ensure assets meet technical and artistic standards.

Collaborate with producers and leads to plan, track, and deliver tasks on schedule.

Provide and implement constructive feedback across the art team, including to outsource vendors, to maintain consistency and quality.

Contribute to pipeline development, tool improvements, and documentation.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience creating weapons, hero props, or hard surface assets for AAA games.

Expert knowledge of modeling, UVs, and texturing using industry-standard software (Maya, 3ds, Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Suite, etc.).

Strong understanding of realistic weapon design including silhouette, forms, function, and material definition.

Portfolio demonstrating high-quality, optimized weapons presented in-engine.

Experience with Unreal Engine technology.

Skilled at producing efficient, clean models with proper UVs and PBR textures.

Knowledge of first- and third-person asset requirements for gameplay integration.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate and give feedback.

Self‑driven, organized, and able to work effectively under deadline.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with a weapon production pipeline.

Additional skills in material creation, concepting, etc.

Knowledge of rigging or technical art.
