Journeyman Generator Technician

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently.Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.*Key Responsibilities*▪ Diagnose and repair alternating electrical systems on diesel, LP gas, and natural gas generator sets, including electrical services, automatic transfer switches, and accessories.▪ Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and testing, including fluid and filter changes.▪ Set up, disconnect, and return TPC rental generators.▪ Conduct resistive load bank testing on generators and transfer switches.▪ Perform diesel fuel maintenance testing and polishing services.▪ Install, troubleshoot, and repair wireless remote monitoring systems for generators and transfer switches.▪ Work beyond standard business hours when needed for critical projects.▪ Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, invoices, warranties, timesheets, equipment details, parts lists, and load bank reports.▪ Keep the assigned service vehicle in top condition and maintain proper stock of service parts.▪ Ensure all tools and technology are functional, reporting any issues to the Service Operations Administrator.▪ Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation.▪ Perform other duties as assigned.*Qualifications & Skills*▪ Experience: At least five years in power generation, engine repair, or controls.▪ Education: High school diploma or equivalent.▪ Technical Skills: Computer literacy and strong problem-solving abilities.*Additional Requirements*▪ Valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record (as defined by our insurer).▪ Must pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug test.▪ Ability to perform physical tasks typical of construction work, including kneeling, climbing, bending, crawling, lifting 50+ lbs., and working overhead.▪ Must tolerate various weather conditions and uneven surfaces.▪ Functional vision, hearing, and clear verbal communication skills for in-person and phone communication.*Why Join Us?*▪ Work with an industry leader in power generation services.▪ Competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities. xhqgsiq ▪ Be part of a supportive and professional team dedicated to excellence.Job Type: Full-timePay: Up to $33.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceExperience:* Generator Servicing: 5 years (Required)License/Certification:* EGSA Journeyman Certification (Required)Work Location: In person
