Summary
The Audio Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting high-quality audio solutions for live, virtual, and hybrid events. This role combines technical expertise and creative execution to deliver seamless production experiences aligned with event objectives. The position focuses on audio mixing, routing, and integration within complex control room environments, while also supporting video, streaming, and collaboration platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance in the design and execution of live, virtual, and hybrid events, ensuring high-quality audio, video, lighting, and presentation experiences.

Coordinate all technical production requirements while ensuring compliance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Conduct thorough quality assurance and optimization of production spaces, equipment, and event assets prior to execution.

Support presenters through preparation, rehearsals, and live event direction to ensure seamless delivery.

Manage post-production activities, including basic editing and distribution of event recordings.

Identify and resolve technical challenges, contributing to incident reporting and post-event analysis.

Collaborate with teams to evaluate and enhance studio and event space strategies based on operational needs.

Participate in planning meetings to align on production workflows, schedules, and event requirements.

Configure and manage control room systems to deliver high-quality production outcomes.

Determine and oversee the setup, testing, and quality control of all required production equipment and assets.

Lead execution of production elements, including audio mixing (primary focus), technical directing, robotic cameras, virtual platforms, graphics, video playback, streaming, lighting, and teleprompting.

Optimize equipment performance and recommend repair or replacement using advanced technical judgment.

Provide post-event support, including editing and basic graphics creation.

Mentor and train event technicians, supporting skill development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot complex issues across production systems and equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in live event production, broadcast, video production, or a related field.

At least 3+ years of experience supporting onsite, virtual, and hybrid events, including studio production and event coordination.

Proven experience managing production schedules, databases, and event logistics.

Hands‑on experience with professional audio systems, including Yamaha consoles, Dante audio networks, Shure microphones, and intercom systems.

Background in multiple corporate audio roles such as Front of House (FOH), Audio Assistant, System Engineer, or Monitor Engineer.

Strong technical expertise in audio technologies and protocols, including Dante, Q‑Sys, AES67, ST 2110, AoIP, signal flow, and gain structure.

Experience working with control room technologies, including audio consoles, robotic cameras, and video playback systems.

Familiarity with AV and collaboration technologies such as Extron, Poly, Shure Wireless Workbench, and DPA microphones.

Working knowledge of virtual production tools and enterprise meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
