This role offers the opportunity to shape the sound identity of multiple mobile games, directly influencing how players experience gameplay through immersive and high-quality audio. You will evaluate existing sound assets, design and enhance new audio elements, and ensure alignment between creative vision and gameplay needs. Operating in a remote-first and highly collaborative environment, you will work closely with designers and producers to elevate overall game quality. The position combines hands‑on sound design with strategic input, allowing you to both create and guide audio direction. Your work will span casual and action mobile titles, where clarity, creativity, and player impact are essential. This is a flexible contract role open across Europe, with potential for long-term collaboration.
Accountabilities
You will be responsible for evaluating, creating, and refining audio experiences across multiple mobile game projects, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and player-focused sound design. This includes both hands‑on audio production and strategic input into overall audio direction.
Review and evaluate existing audio assets, including sound effects, music, and UI audio, to identify areas for improvement
Design, produce, and enhance high-quality sound effects, background music, and in‑game audio cues
Refine and optimize existing audio assets to align with gameplay mechanics and design intent
Develop structured proposals outlining audio improvements, new asset creation, and implementation priorities
Collaborate closely with production, design, and engineering teams to ensure feasibility and consistency
Communicate creative and technical audio decisions clearly across cross‑functional teams
Contribute to shaping the overall audio strategy and player experience across titles
Requirements
You bring strong experience in game audio design, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to create immersive soundscapes across SFX, music, and UI audio. You are highly detail-oriented, creative, and comfortable working in iterative, fast-paced development environments, particularly within mobile game production across Europe.
Extensive experience as an Audio Engineer in game development
Strong portfolio showcasing sound design work for games, including SFX, music, and UI audio
Proficiency in audio production, mixing, and mastering techniques
Ability to critically evaluate audio assets and propose actionable improvements
Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
Creative mindset with a strong focus on player experience and engagement
Experience with mobile games or similar genres is a strong plus
Familiarity with audio implementation in engines such as Unity is preferred
Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative production environments
