Job Description
Dickies Arena seeks an Audio and Lighting Technician to provide management and support of our main public address audio system, concourse audio system, portable audio systems, main bowl lighting, specialty theatrical lighting system, and network‑controlled concourse lighting systems. This includes maintenance, operation, and training part‑time staff for key systems during live events. The candidate will address a wide range of technologies and functions.
Essential Functions
Maintain front‑of‑house audio components (console, routing, amplifiers, cabinets)
Train part‑time staff in proper execution of audio systems during live events
Inventory and maintain portable audio systems
Perform maintenance and repair of concourse and back‑of‑house audio systems
Apply knowledge of network‑connected audio systems (Madi, Dante, AVB)
Basic knowledge of live music engineering and setup
Audio signal flow, gain structure, and management
Maintain lighting console and broadcast lighting system
Train part‑time staff for broadcast and theatrical lighting systems
DMX programming, signal flow; proficiency with Art‑Net or sACN preferred
Crestron, AMX, BSS, or QSYS programming experience preferred but not required
Basic networking and communication of audio/lighting over network
Understand cabling standards, construction, and termination
Assist video production team with camera set‑ups, teardown, AV set‑ups, network/phone line installs, and other AT/IT/Broadcast department needs
Other duties as assigned

Available for days, evenings, and/or weekends as required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Dante level I & II Certification
Pro Tools, QLabs certification
Experience in rigging, basic stage setup, lighting program, design or stage sets, live theatre experience
Supervisory Responsibility
The role interfaces and communicates problems, solutions, plans, and other information with peers, managers, contractors, and external parties. When the Technical Services Manager is absent, the role supervises the Part‑Time Event Day Staff.
Physical Demands
Frequent use of a computer and office devices; constant movement inside/outside various areas of the facility before/during/after events; required communication via telephone, email, and in‑person; may lift/move up to 50 lbs and occasionally over 100 lbs; must complete a lift certification and be comfortable working at heights from catwalks, ladders, and mechanical lifts.
