Role Description
Iowa Audio Video is seeking full‑time, on‑site Audio Visual Installers for our Des Moines metropolitan operations. We are hiring both experienced installers and individuals interested in apprentice‑level positions who are looking to build a long‑term career in the AV industry.
Responsibilities
The Audio Visual Installer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing commercial‑grade audio, video, and sensory media systems. Responsibilities include installing AV equipment, running and terminating cabling, mounting displays and hardware, troubleshooting system issues, following system design documentation, and working collaboratively with project managers and engineers. This role may also include conducting basic system training for clients and ensuring clean, professional, and efficient project execution at customer sites.

For Experienced Candidates
Proven experience installing and troubleshooting AV systems, including video walls, projectors, sound systems, and conferencing platforms
Ability to read and interpret system schematics and installation drawings
Knowledge of structured cabling, cable management, and hardware mounting techniques
Familiarity with AV networking and IP‑based AV systems
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the AV trade
Basic understanding of hand tools, construction practices, or low‑voltage systems preferred
Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and develop technical skills over time
For All Candidates
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Professional communication skills when interacting with team members and clients
Ability to work on‑site and safely operate hand and power tools
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or AV certifications are a plus
