
Audio Visual Technician Job at Convergenz in Washington

Perform audio and video equipment setup and tear down for diverse, high-profile events in various multipurpose rooms throughout the campus
Adapt to a flexible work schedule including fluctuating early mornings, late nights, and/or weekends to accommodate the service needs
Interface with clients to facilitate audiovisual needs and ensure proper layout and connectivity of electronic equipment, including microphones, projectors, video teleconferencing systems, monitors, lighting, computers, and presentation systems
Respond to clients’ audiovisual needs during active events with poise and efficiency
Distribute and reclaim equipment based on event specifications
Perform cable management for each event, ensuring safe runs and proper dressing to maintain exceptional aesthetic and prevent tripping hazards
Maintain proper storage and organization of audiovisual equipment for ease of access, rapid deployment, and inventory control
Maintain awareness of industry advancements and emerging technology, and suggest innovations to improve workflows
Seek to enhance customer experience, consistently providing exceptional service and clear communication
Stay apprised of overarching business unit operations, and update management on task progress and areas of concern
Coordinate with management and personnel, and collaborate as needed to ensure customer expectations are met in a timely and professional manner
Report technical malfunctions and system failures to management or assigned designees and collaborate to facilitate a timely resolution
Coordinate with management to develop tracking and quality control workflows in assigned areas
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Three years of audiovisual event support experience in theater, corporations, hospitality, government, and/or convention centers
Bachelor’s degree or vocational certificate in related technical field preferred
Experience dealing with demanding customers in high pressure situations during live events
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge of audiovisual systems and equipment, including microphones, audio, video teleconferencing, public address, projectors, lighting, cabling, and presentation
Knowledge of video transport standards, such as HDMI, VGA, and IP
Skill in organizing equipment and maintaining inventory
Skill in creative and analytical problem-solving
Skill at following directives and completing tasks
Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly
Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends, based on the service needs
Ability to remain consistently punctual and check in with scheduling manager
Ability to respond to end-user errors and assist with training in a patient, graceful, and poised manner
Ability to exercise basic fluency in computer operating systems and software, such as Windows, Mac, iOS, and MS Office
Ability to walk, stand, crouch, climb (ladders and stairs), and lift up to 50 lbs
