Position Summary
The Audio-Visual/Media Specialist is a full‑time, 12‑month position. The Audio-Visual/Media Specialist is responsible for the operations of the media inventory for instructional purposes for the Webster Central School District. This position works collaboratively to support audio‑visual needs during the instructional day and evening events.
Supervisor
The Audio-Visual/Media Specialist reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Director of Educational Technology and Information and Building Principal.
Qualifications
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a minimum of an Associate's degree. Monroe County Civil Service title of Audio Visual Attendant or ability to obtain the Audio Visual Attendant Civil Service title is required.
Essential Responsibilities
Reviews and recommends audio‑visual resources to support instructional staff.
Develops and maintains media materials for audio‑visual presentation.
Ensures all electronic software programs are functioning properly.
Oversees scheduling and allocation of building audio‑visual equipment and materials.
Maintains physical inventory, maintenance and organization of school audio‑visual/multimedia equipment and assets using a computer database software.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues to ensure uninterrupted use in instructional settings.
Sets up and manages audio and lighting equipment for meetings, events, and concerts during and after the instructional day.
Experience with video editing and all aspects of video production is required.
Experience with multimedia equipment, set‑up, configuration and adjustment in a variety of settings, is preferred.
Must be able to collaborate with a wide variety of individuals to achieve a common goal.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Must be able to lift and transport equipment physically throughout school locations as needed.
Salary
The Audio-Visual/Media Specialist follows the Admin/Non‑WELA handbook. Compensation will be determined based upon education and experience.
