Overview This position coordinates with the Project Manager the work of a crew along with executing installation tasks for audio visual projects.
Responsibilities Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, handling and terminating fiber, mounting projects and metal fabrication.
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring
Projector and screen support structure installations
Test point to point functionality of systems
Field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron) – upload and download capability
Mentor Technicians and Lead Technicians
Load and test code for control and DSP systems
Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer
Provide site supervisor of install team with direction from the Project Manager
Perform client training as needed
Customer liaison in absence of Project Manager
Responsible for job documentation as needed
Demonstrate job site leadership
Travel to various job sites required
Other duties assigned as needed
Skills and Abilities
Effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
Ability to manage small to medium projects
Minor programming capability (AMX/Creston) – changes and troubleshooting
Qualifications Education and/or ExperienceGuaranteed
Minimum of 4 years of audiovisual installation experience preferred
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred External Training:
InfoComm Quick Start to the audiovisual industry
InfoComm CTS General Certification
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
Extron AV Associate Certification
Crestron Professional Installation Certification
Essentials of Crestron Programming
AMX Installer
Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Vision Technologies Driving Privileges standards
Physical Requirements
