Summary
The Communications Specialist II will play a pivotal role in developing communications strategies and disseminating company messaging through a variety of channels. The role requires strategic planning, exceptional writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate communications, public relations, content creation, and project management.
Responsibilities
Support comprehensive internal and external communications strategies to bolster L-H Battery objectives and initiatives.
Craft and oversee the creation of high-quality content for various channels, including internal memos, speeches, newsletters, press releases, website, and social media.
Build and maintain strong relations with local and regional media and communications stakeholders.
Coordinate media relations activities, including responding to media inquiries, drafting press materials, arranging and preparing for interviews, and conducting related research and compilation of media coverage.
Collaborate with parent company PR/media teams and other cross‑functional team members to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication platforms.
Draft and refine internal and external speeches and develop corresponding visuals (e.g., PowerPoint slides).
Coordinate advertising and sponsorship messaging and placements.
Represent the company at community meetings, events, and other public forums.
Promote positive community engagement through assisting with community events, sponsorships, and volunteer activities.
Stay current with industry news and understand how L-H Battery operations fit into the overall manufacturing and product development landscape.
Follow communication trends and best practices to ensure communication efforts remain both effective and innovative.
Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data‑driven recommendations for improvement.
Develop in‑depth knowledge of the business operations and incorporate it into messaging, processes, and projects.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
4 to 6+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or similar role.
Knowledge / Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Excellent writing skills.
Expert in developing clear, concise, effective communications with short notice.
Expert in developing visual presentations.
Expert in speech writing.
Familiarity with photography.
Familiarity with web design and/or effective web layouts.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Prompt and regular attendance within onsite operations.
Flexibility to work adjusted shifts.
Additional Requirements
This role requires up to 10% of travel (domestic).
