*Periodontal Dental Hygienist**Location*: Brookfield, Shorewood, Oconomowoc*Job Summary*The Periodontal Dental Hygienist is responsible for performing various periodontal treatments, educating patients on oral hygiene and periodontal health, and assisting in the management of periodontal disease. This position requires advanced clinical skills and a deep understanding of periodontal anatomy, disease progression, and therapeutic techniques. The role involves working collaboratively with a team of dental professionals to ensure optimal patient care.*Key Responsibilities** *Periodontal Assessments and Examinations** Conduct comprehensive periodontal evaluations, including probing depth measurements, gum recession assessments, and bleeding on probing (BOP) checks.* Record and chart all findings accurately in patient records.* *Scaling and Root Planing** Perform non-surgical periodontal therapy, such as scaling and root planing, using manual and ultrasonic instruments.* Administer local anesthesia as needed for deep cleaning procedures.* *Periodontal Maintenance** Implement and manage periodontal maintenance programs for patients with a history of gum disease.* Schedule and conduct routine follow-ups for patients receiving periodontal treatment.* *Patient Education and Counseling** Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing techniques, and the importance of maintaining periodontal health.* Provide guidance on lifestyle changes, such as smoking cessation and dietary habits, to support periodontal therapy outcomes.* *Assisting in Surgical Procedures** Assist periodontists with periodontal surgical procedures, including flap surgeries, tissue grafting, and implant placement.* Prepare a...
